About Rato Bangala School
Rato Bangala School was founded in 1992 as a Center of Excellence. Since then the school has grown to be a leader in progressive education, and a pioneer in improving the quality of instruction in private and government schools across Nepal. As an advocate for child-centered education, Rato Bangala works to take best practices crafted at the school to the larger community through its outreach programs and sister organizations.

Rato Bangala School was founded by Shanta Dixit and Milan Dixit in 1992 with a commitment to transform the Nepali education landscape. Their aim was to nurture a new generation of Nepali children to be analytical and independent thinkers in an environment that empowers them to thrive socially, emotionally and cognitively and build essential skills to succeed in life.

The Campus and the Facilities
Situated in the historic city of Patan, Rato Bangala’s verdant campus is refreshing and tranquil. Classrooms are spacious and professionally designed to serve as classroom spaces. They are airy and bright, and the furniture is standardized according to age level. The well-equipped classrooms help in implementing Rato Bangala philosophy's hands-on experiential learning. Seating within a classroom is flexible, and any given arrangement reflects the activity planned.

Safety First at RBS
We believe that safety should always come first and every decision we make keeps this in mind.
Infirmary with full-time Nurse
Full-time certified Nurse is on duty in the Infirmary during school hours.
Earthquake Safety
Earthquake drills are regular and earthquake safety protocols are in place with a team that oversees it.
Pandemic Related Safety Protocols
The leadership team of the school has worked closely with public health professionals to design strict safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic. The in-person school has opened in gradual phases and multi-layered safety plans have been implemented to keep all the students and the staff safe which include masks, physical distancing, attendance policies, cleanliness and hygiene, use of hand sanitizers and hand washing at convenient stations and temperature checks at the gates. Detailed safety protocols are available to all students, parents, and staff members.
Accreditation
The school is accredited by the Nepal Government's Ministry of Education and by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES). Rato Bangala students graduate with a Cambridge GCE A-Levels degree. They also sit for the mandatory government examinations (the BEE in the eighth and the SEE in the tenth grades) as well as selected IGCSE subjects, also in the tenth grade before moving on to the two-year A-Level programs conducted by Cambridge Assessment International Education.
